Indiana Jones was one of my first loves and romance novels featuring archeologists are my catnip. Treasure hunts, museums, adventure, sexy times in dusty pyramids…I can’t get enough!
- Mr. Impossible by Loretta Chase: If you love The Mummy movies then this book is for you! The hero is a reckless aristocrat and the heroine is a scholar who gets him out of a Cairo prison so he can help her rescue her brother. They travel down the Nile and explore the pyramids (and each other). LOVED this one!
- Cold Iron by D.L McDermott: This one is also a paranormal romance! The heroine is a gifted archeologist who discovers a Celtic tomb with a missing body. The hero is a Fae warrior with supernatural powers of seduction. I binged this whole series hard. Highly recommend.
- Crocodile on the Sandbank by Elizabeth Peters: This is the first book in the Amelia Peabody series. They are mysteries set during the late 1800s/early 1900s but I am also counting them as romance (closed door) because Amelia and her husband can’t get enough of each other 😉 I adore this whole series – another one for fans of The Mummy!
- East of Redemption by Molly E. Lee: A contemporary second chance romance with a treasure hunter hero who needs a big score to keep his reality show on the air. The heroine is his ex and the daughter of his mentor – an archeologist who died going after King Solomon’s treasure. He needs her to document his latest adventure…in the cave that killed her father.
